Ant Control

Facing an ant infestation? We thoroughly identify your specific ant species and tailor treatments, as effective control requires more than just a simple spray.

Panther Pest Control (PPS Group) dedicates significant effort to identifying the type of ant infestation, determining its duration, assessing currently used products, and highlighting the reasons for their presence. We provide comprehensive pre- and post-treatment advice to ensure you are well-supported. We employ a variety of products tailored to each situation, as ants require more than just a simple spray for effective control. In cases where ant populations have been historically high and invasive, it may take several weeks post-treatment to achieve zero activity.

Ant nests are commonly located in soil beneath stones, concrete paths, walls, and similar structures. During late summer, and occasionally at other times of the year, swarms of winged male and female ants emerge to mate and disperse. Ants generally consume sweet, sugary foods, although some species may also feed on fats and meat products.

New Zealand hosts native ant species, but the most problematic ones are primarily imported. Examples include the White Footed Ant, Argentine Ant, and Darwin's Ant. Different regions within New Zealand encounter various nuisance species. Therefore, it is crucial to identify the specific ant species present to ensure appropriate treatment. Incorrect identification or advice can lead to more persistent issues.

Is your pest not listed here?

Beyond the usual pests, many others can cause trouble, particularly in commercial areas. This includes borer beetles, mosquitoes, and specific commercial pests like flour beetles or weevils. For significant commercial pests, ongoing planned programmes really do the trick.
